You do not have to be on the Committee to volunteer to help the Club with anything that we do.
For example a new health and safety framework has recently been completed, and we need to monitor lots of different aspects of this framework. For example one kind person who teaches chemistry as offered to help with chemical health and safety on site.
Other people are needed to help with other aspects such as supervision of the annual periodic testing of the club house, the testing is done by a Contractor but someone with electrical training is required to provide guidance and advice on the best way forward. Other topics include, risk assessments generally, annual driving tests for people driving the tractor, checking the roadworthyness of the clubs boat trailers, monthly safety inspections of carparks and footpaths, monthly inspection of slipways, monthly inspection of trip hazards and ground anchors in boat park and lots of other small checks. Some require a degree of specialist knowledge others just need common sense and ultimately the Committee is responsible for the health and safety isssues on site, but we could do with some help.
If you think you can help please send an email to volunteer@draycotewater.co.uk or look on here, even if we have not mentioned your area of expertise we would be glad of any offer.
The cost of complying with new and growing list of health and safety requirements is rising faster than general inflation and your help will keep membership fee increases to a minimum.
