Winter Training

We are planning two special Draycote Y&J training events this winter. To help with the planning please can you email Simon Loveridge (simonloveridge[at]sky.com) to register your place in advance - no commitment at this stage. We will be opening these events up to vistor boats - so we do need to know Draycote interest to help manage numbers!

2nd/3rd January - Joint 29er / Feva Training event
This is a great opportunity to firmly establish a Feva / 29er pathway at Draycote and to supplement the Winter Squad Training many are involved in.

- Saturday Training Day. Steve Irish, RYA GBR Youth Coach will be leading the day supported by Phil Walker and Andrew Weeden
- Sunday Race Day. Andrew Weeden will be Race Officer, with Phil Walker providing on the water coaching and debriefs.

On the Saturday, Steve will concentrate on boat handling and speed with an emphasis on being able to practice and self coach over the rest of the winter. On the Sunday the emphasis will be on lots of windward / leeward starts and race practice.

There are 2 club Fevas for hire (Fevas £10 per day for this event). To cover costs, there will be a £4 charge per person per day for Draycote members. Visitors will be charged £8 per person per day.
Start time to be confirmed, but likely to be 9.30 (or 10.00 rigged and changed).

20th/21st Feb - Joint Tera / Feva Training event
Jonathan Lewis, Tera National Squad coach and former Feva National Squad coach will be running this 2 day event. The Feva events Jonathan ran last year were a huge success - and have helped to establish a Feva fleet at Draycote. Jonathan's involvement with Tera's makes this an ideal opportunity to establish a Tera / Feva pathway at Draycote.

There are 6 club Teras and 2 club Fevas for hire (Fevas £10 per day and Teras £5 per day for this event). Again, to cover costs, there will be a £4 charge per person per day for Draycote members. Vistors will be charged £8 per person per day.

Start time to be confirmed, but likely to be 9.30 (or 10.00 rigged and changed).

We would like to encourage as many Draycote Youth and Junior members to participate as possible - please feel free to contact Simon Loveridge if you would like to find out more.
